Yeti under the weather

A good morning would have started at 10 AM and without a congestion, hence today, was not a good day. It is not surprising that I would now get sick, considering everyone in the world is catching a cold and I am not a fan of missing out on what everyone is doing. That, and the fact that the weather has switched form 10 to 70 to 30 degrees in 5 days can do the trick. I did not wake up inspired but I knew I wanted to feel cozy and wear these new pair of earrings I got from jewelry designer/friend Tara Chial. These are earrings that require nothing major to stand out, and although they might be a tad overshadowed by my Yeti sweater, I think you all will be able to enjoy their beauty. Surely they'll glow more when Spring colors begin to populate the racks but for now, here is my "winter" take on it. Although, besides the sweater, nothing about this outfit is really winter-like. Hmm...just like the environment has chosen to ignore the season, so have I-- Now you know why I have a cold!

Mourning the Summer

I am not usually an all black type of gal but when you get a beautiful black sheer maxi dress and wear it on a perfect sunny and windy day... it begs for a picture. After 10 degree weather these last two days, I am happy to share that I have survived the oddysey. It wasn't easy–there were times when I thought of calling 911 and explaining to them that if help did not come they would find me in a ditch, frozen– but thankfully my desire to cuddle up in my warm bed trumped the feeling of giving up. I am looking forward to more sunny days... minus the below 0 weather!

A Hiatus...

Today I was obliged to fulfill my DC resident duties and renew my driver's license. If any of you have gone to the DMV before, any DMV, you must know how excruciating these trips can be. Since I am leaving for the Holidays soon, and I do not have a valid license in my home country either, this was a MAJOR to-do item in my list. I left work early and I mentally prepared myself for what I thought was going to be 2 to 3 hours of staring at the walls, and sometimes funny people, while sitting in a stone-like chair. To my surprise, the experience was nothing more than exciting. It took me 30 minutes to give my information and get my ID and once it was in my hands I was like a teenager who just got his driver's permit. Oh to be young! Anyway, I had an hour and a half of time to kill before my next errand (... gym) so I hit the shops in Georgetown to get some early birthday gifts for myself. I won't ruin the surprise but here's one of my gifts which I will be wearing tomorrow... Anyone wanna take a guess???

On another note, I am obsessing over the Clare Vivier clutches featured in Refinery29. If you need a clutch to wear on a casual setting these could be the perfect option. The brown one with the yellow neon strap is definitely my top pick, I guess I'll have to wait and see if the parents get the hint after this post. Wish me luck! Got a favorite??
